Show 1 “Born Yesterday”
A Comedy by Garson Kanin

Garson Kanin's first and most successful Broadway play is a satirical comedy set in wartime Washington, D.C. Harry Brock, a corrupt tycoon who made his fortune in junk, brings his showgirl mistress Billie Dawn with him to the Capitol, to help him convince some members of Congress to vote his way. Realizing Billie Dawn needs some polish, he hires a journalist from the New Republic to educate her and keep her busy while he wines and dines members of Congress. As the writer falls in love with Billie, she begins to realize how corrupt Harry really is and starts interfering with his plans to "buy" a few congressmen.
